MGF celebrates #GLAD24

As part of Global Lifting Awareness Day today #GLAD24 (July 18) Victoria Badnell, technical sales, MGF, tells us why events like this are so important for the industry.

“MGF will be supporting #GLAD24 with some social media posts around how we as a business and individuals within the sector support the lifting industry and specifically lifting in construction because that's where our core business lies. We are celebrating how our journey has grown over the years and why we are passionate about the lifted industry as a whole,” she said.

“Events like GLAD are really important to MGF and the industry as a whole. We get to share our thoughts and processes of lifting, how we like to be involved, and how we involve our customers in that process. Also, we can communicate with our peers and colleagues within LEEA about what we're doing to change the industry, and how we can all work together, because it is an ever changing dynamic industry and it's not just us in the UK, but worldwide. So, there are lots of conversations and things that we can learn from other sectors from other countries and how we can be better and how we can make the lifting industry a safer place for everyone to work in.

“We are a fairly new member at LEEA compared to others and we've had a lot of support from the association over the years. So we're going to share that on social media, on LinkedIn. I also think it's really important that we share the great initiatives that LEEA offers as a whole because that helps to attract the next generation and how as a business we are open and aware of its diversity and the people we can encourage into it.

“We are a small growing team. So all those things are really important to us, to share that and obviously to share it with LEEA because it's a fantastic initiative and it gets everyone thinking and talking, not just on one specific day, but as a whole.

“I am personally glad to be in lifting because it's an ever changing, diverse industry. I get to be involved in projects within lots of industry sectors from start to finish. We get to see and grow with our projects and our customers. We get to be involved as a manufacturer, from an MGF perspective, but also for me to make sure we're giving our customers the right products and components to be able to manage their lifts and their day-to-day lives on site in the best possible way.

“I'm also glad because I think as a woman in a construction and lifting is still very niche. So to be able to share that and spearhead that for the next generation of women to come into the industry is key.”
