75-75 Military Transition Scheme

Free training and job placements for 75 military leavers looking to enter the civilian lifting industry

As part of LEEA’s 75th anniversary celebrations, we have launched our 75-75 Military Transition Scheme.

The aim of this scheme is to train 75 military leavers, veterans or reservists and offer 75 UK job placements in order to help these service leavers transition to the civilian lifting industry.

The lifting sector is facing a challenge with sustainability of skills and the military can potentially provide an important pool of talent.

You can read more about the scheme in our News & Events –

If you are interested in joining the lifting industry, LEEA is offering a free Foundation e-Learning course. Our Foundation course covers common types of lifting equipment used across the industry and gives a basic knowledge of key topics.

We are also reaching out to LEEA Members and industry partners to offer you a 2 day job placement so you can see for yourself the breadth of career our industry can offer you.

LEEA Members and Industry Partners

Can you offer a 2 day job placement to someone leaving the military and looking to join the lifting industry?

We want to show military leavers just how wide and rewarding a career in lifting can be but we need your help.

LEEA is offering free basic training to 75 people and we are reaching out to our Members and industry partners to find companies across the UK who would be able to offer short job placements where they can work alongside experienced staff and get a taste for the civilian sector.

We hope the training and work placements together will help these military leavers become more employable and we have already seen success - several of our candidates have already secured employment through the scheme.

Ex-military personnel could be a perfect fit for your business if you want employees who are highly professional, self-motivated, can use their initiative and who have a wide range of transferrable skills such as:

  • Leadership & management skills
  • Communication skills
  • Organisation skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent team work
  • Health & safety and security awareness

LEEA has also secured a discounted rate for our Members to advertise job vacancies at https://jobs.forces.net/. Read this article for more details -
