Think Lifting ‘lesson in a bag’ launched
LEEA has launched the Think Lifting School Lesson. The ready to use ‘lesson in a bag’ includes films, content, experiments and leave behind hand-outs that will allow LEEA member companies to engage remotely with their local schools in order to help raise awareness of the Lifting Industry.
The company sends the ‘lesson in a bag’ to the school and conducts the lesson remotely via the Zoom platform using the provided presentation, which last approximately 40 minutes. Any company can use the class presentations and the experiments will be provided free to LEEA members.
On 29 September 2020, LEEA CEO Ross Moloney used the Zoom platform to introduce this new solution for promoting the lifting industry as a career option to members. He commented: “As a result of Covid-19, LEEA has changed the approach of the Think Lifting programme so that the Think Lifting School Lesson can now be delivered remotely, thus ensuring compliance with any pandemic regulations around schools.”
The Think Lifting School Lesson has been launched in association with Lift & Hoist International (LHI) magazine. Publisher Guy Harris said: “The Think Lifting School Lesson continues the momentum established with the release of two Think Lifting films that seek to explain the importance of lifting in the world around us, as well as the opportunities that exist in the industry. I would urge the lifting sector to get involved in delivering this lesson – what could be more fulfilling than teaching our potential next generation about our industry?”
The scheme is initially piloting in the UK and any necessary materials can be sent to LEEA members free of charge.
