Standards and legislation update - February 2025

It is vital to keep up with the latest standards and legislative developments because they could potentially impact those working with lifting equipment. LEEA has posted its February 2025 Standards and Legislation Report on its website at leeaint.com/dashboard. This is a service for LEEA members, who will need to log in to access the full report. Once logged in, they will find that this month’s report provides updates on the progress of the following standards and legislative matters: 
  • prEN 13157 Hand powered cranes
  • EN 14238 Manually controlled load manipulators.

The report also informs of the open voting ballots for:

  • EN 13155:2020/FprA1 Cranes – safety – Non-fixed load lifting attachments
  • EN 17076:2020/FprA1 Tower cranes – Anti-collision systems – safety requirements
  • prEN 15056 Cranes – requirements for container handling spreaders.

With respect to legislative matters, links to the updated guidance documents on the subject of conformity marking from the UK's Department for trade and industry have been included for information.
