Standards and legislation update
The latest standards and legislative developments could potentially impact those working with lifting equipment. This month’s report provides updates on the progress of the following standards and legislative matters:
- prEN 14238 Manually controlled load manipulating devices
- ISO/TS 23624 Cranes – Safe use of high-performance fibre ropes in crane applications
- ISO/DIS 4306 Cranes – Vocabulary
- prEN 16851 Cranes – Light crane systems
- EN 12999:2020/FprA1
- An update on the status of chain sling components within the Machinery Regulation.
It also advises on the current ballot for EN 13852-2 Cranes – Offshore cranes, Part 2 Floating cranes and introduces the new work items for the ISO sling inspection standards.
