New regional meetings well received

The first of LEEA’s new Regional Meetings, which took place at Haydock Park in March, was very well attended with 20 members including two external speakers, plus five personnel from LEEA. After a welcome and introduction, Stewart Allister gave a briefing on LEEA’s Technical Triage System. Jamie Davies of the Health & Safety Executive, discussed Lift Planning and why it is important. This was followed by Philip Ross, of Sollertia, presenting on ‘outsourcing financial services’. A group discussion and run through of LEEA business took the event to the lunch/networking break, after which LEEA surgeries were held, giving the opportunity for one-to-ones with heads of departments at LEEA.

“The presentations were varied and went down well with the audience, with plenty of participation from the members,” says Robert Wilson, LEEA’s Head of Member Engagement. “I was also pleased with the one-to-one surgeries where members engaged with the various LEEA departments.”

A second meeting took place in Guilford during April and the next regional meeting will be in Sunderland, on 22 May 2019, at the Grand Hotel.
