LEEA Summer Social Event 2024
Tickets are still available for the LEEA Summer social event of the year, a two-day golf, spa and networking event at Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Lincolnshire.
“The LEEA Golf Day is one of my favourite days of the year, if not the best day of the year because it's a day where we get to hang out with LEEA members and we get to play golf this summer, on July 11,” said Ross Moloney, CEO LEEA.
“It's more of a summer social, including a spa day, so we're really encouraging people, even if they're not golf lovers, to come and hang out with about 100 LEEA members and it's a chance for networking, socialising and there's a team competition, so you can play with your own colleagues or friends from other organisations.
“The venue we've chosen this year is a LEEA hosted event. Normally, in the past, it's been handled by LEEA members, but LEEA is hosting it this year and the venue, Belton Woods Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Lincolnshire is just off the A1 so it couldn’t be easier to get to.
“The course itself, is challenging without being overly hard. If you're a really good golfer and the weather is favourable, you might well take the course apart. But I don't think you need to bring hundreds of balls. I don't think it's that level of difficulty. However, there is lots of water. We're playing the Lake course, so there may well be some splashes going on.
“And the actual venue itself is really nice, a really pleasant place, where we'll be eating.
There’s also lots of space to hold meetings or chats.”
According to organiser, Leah Phelps, managing director, L2 events, it is not just a golf day, but a summer event for non-golfers as well novices.
“So, it's really all-encompassing and all inclusive. Arrival is the night before, on Wednesday July 10, if you so wish. And that evening, we'll have a fun BBQ outside with activities on the driving range,” said Phelps.
“On Day 2, Thursday, July 11, is the golf day proper. We'll start with a networking breakfast and we have use of Claret Jug club house, which is a great space. We'll then move onto the putting competition, which will start at 10am and then 11am we will start on the Lakes golf course.
“We return to the Claret Jug in the afternoon for some downtime and then we'll have dinner, drinks and entertainment in the evening and we'll find out who the winners of our competitions are. We have seven competitions this year and also a new competition for novices. So, it's a great couple of days. Event booking is now open and there's a few spaces left for golf, so guests just need to go to the LEEA website to book.”
Moloney added: “We chose this venue, not just because of the golf course, but because of the networking spaces and spa facilities as we're trying to make this more of a summer social rather than an isolated event. We've really seen with the growth of the LEEA Awards that the industry likes to get together and that means bringing team members and partners and we think there's a real benefit to that. Even if you're not a golfer, it's a really good opportunity to come and just hang out in the space and be with other LEEA members.”
