LEEA on ANZ tour
LEEA Director of Membership Matthew Barber joined Justin Boehm, Regional Manager – Australia & New Zealand, in Sydney during September. Together they met the team at TCT - Tower Crane Training, LEEA’s Licensed Training Partner, to refine the training programme to best support LEEA members. This was followed by an Australia and New Zealand Regional Council meeting, chaired by Regional Director Andy Campbell, to solidify the 2026-2028 programme of work.

Next for Boehm was a trip to Tauranga in New Zealand to meet Maggie de Beer (pictured above with Justin Boehm) from Qube Ports New Zealand (formerly ISO Limited) for a safe use audit. LEEA is working with Maggie, the team and their supporting LEEA member to ensure safe lifting practices across their operations. Then it was back to Auckland to meet Bruce Bailey at Chain and Rigging's new facilities in Wiri.
At the end of September, Boehm participated in the Safety Reimagined panel discussion at AIMEX in Adelaide. Other distinguished panellists Mardi Steere, Samantha Atkins and Michael Paterson shared an eye-opening discussion on how the global adoption of standards and best practice, versus localised and regionalised regulations, will need to change to account for the raise of Ai and autonomous systems. These new technologies are going to change the future of work in the coming years.

Keeping up with these developments is yet another good reason to join LEEA. The leading association for the Lifting industry has never been more accessible and now is the time to gain access to world leading training, industry guidance and networking.
