Launching an additional new way to complete the LEEA audit

A LEEA audit is a unique and valuable feature at the core of LEEA membership.  Having been successfully audited, members earn the right to use the LEEA logo, which is globally understood as the badge of excellence in our industry and which end users of lifting equipment routinely look for when choosing products and services.

We are determined to continually improve our services and as such, shaped by member feedback, we are in the process of adding a new channel by which members can complete the LEEA audit, as well as developing more technically focused areas of investigation.

Responding to feedback

Feedback from industry has led us to concentrate on two main factors:

Firstly, to deepen the technical evidence and expertise at the heart of the audit.

Secondly, to develop a best in class desktop audit in such a way that protects the value of the audit, but offers an alternative method for members who struggle with the time implications of a face to face audit.

Next Steps

The creation of a new Compliance Directorate, with our new Director starting in May 2024, brings together our technical work and our membership audit for the first time. This alone is a statement of intent in making the LEEA audit an even more focused and technically challenging test of credentials.

Our team are currently developing a desktop audit approach, which will be launched in Q2 of 2024.  We will encourage as many members as possible to try the new audit channel and to provide feedback. Initial testing tells us that it is an effective and efficient way to conduct a deep dive into the technical compliance of companies in the lifting sectors, and whilst we understand that it won’t be the choice for all our members, we are determined to make it the very best in class.

We are more committed than ever to develop and protect the LEEA gold standard and expect that our work on our audit will benefit our membership.
