First-ever Crane Lifting Set-up Planning National Competition
The Crane Lifting Set-up Planning National Competition 2024, the first-ever, was held at the BuildXPO Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which took place on 22nd to 24th October. The competition was hosted by ISO Group, in partnership with the Malaysian Mobile Crane Owners Association and the Material Handling & Logistics Technology Association. The event was supported by the Senior General Manager, Mr Suhaimi Mansor from The Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
Participants taking part came from Petronas, SHELL, Air Products, DSK Crane Services, Samudera M&E Engineering, SSRV, China State Construction Engineering, Minetech Construction, Blossom Paragon and Jolpai, in addition to undergraduates in Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering. They all undertook free hands-on software training provided by The ISO Group. Also, during the event, crane lifting supervisors and planners showcased their skills using Crane Lifting Planning software.
Founder of ISO Group, Lt. Colonel Frank Tan said: “Teaching has always been my passion. Our team is constantly improving our training methods and creating innovation to aid in the training that we provide to our clients. We have developed a simulator for Overhead Crane Inspection, Crane Lifting Planner and Defense Driving. In 2025, we will launch Smart Helmet, which will help organisations to save costs on travel for training.”
Currently a LEEA Associate Member, ISO Group is in the process of becoming a LEEA Accredited Training Centre and has been providing training in Malaysia for 21 years. Courses offered include Crane Lifting Planner/ Appointed Person, Overhead Crane Inspection, Rigging & Slinging, Skylift and Defence Driving.
