LEEA engages with Indonesian lifting at BSD City event
The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) held a successful South East Asia Regional Event at the Trembesi Hotel in BSD City, Indonesia on 19th May 2025. Bringing together industry leaders, regulators, technical authorities and professionals involved in lifting and safety, the complimentary event provided an insightful exchange on the latest developments in the Lifting Industry.
Open to non-LEEA members as well as members, it was a great opportunity to expand knowledge as well as professional networks. Guest speakers discussed the latest topics in the Lifting Industry and there were informative updates on LEEA developments and improvement projects.
William Ng, LEEA Regional Manager for South East Asia & Asia and host for the event, said: “In this ecosystem, no matter if we are regulators, competitors, suppliers, buyers, operators, end-users or ground workers, we are all working towards one common goal: to eliminate fatalities and accidents in lifting.”
Among the presentations, Lt. Kolonel Bersekutu (PA) Frank Tan from ISO Group talked about the misconceptions surrounding crane lifting planning. Angelina Jeo from Yoke Industrial Corp looked at the topic of asset traceability and compliance management using RFID digital tags. Farhan Hussin presented on the importance of traceability of lifting equipment and the current technology that can solve asset management problems. Denies Styawan from DNV Indonesia provided an overview of DNV 2.7.1 Offshore Container and Lifting Sets.
