As part of LEEA’s YouTube channel, ‘Be my Guest…’ series, Jenny Eagle speaks to Arnoud Stasse, Area Sales Manager, Royal Van Beest Group, on supporting LEEA as a Silver Sponsor at this year’s LiftEx2023 and entering the LEEA Awards 2023.

Van Beest is excited to announce it has upgraded its Green Pin Snatch Block introducing six new sizes from 32 to 125 ton working load limit, as well as earning Royal status last year, celebrating its 100th year anniversary and launching a Royal Van Beest Group logo.

Arnoud Stasse has worked at the company for 12 years and took over from Anja Van Beest as Area Sales Manager in April this year, responsible for supporting the Green Pin brand in Belgium, The Netherlands, the UK and Ireland.

Before, that he had an internal sales role learning about the company’s products and supplying them to customers’ in over 90 countries worldwide. It also has five sales offices and four warehouses in The Netherlands, France, Brazil and the United States.

This year, Van Beest is a Silver Sponsor at this year’s LiftEx 2023 exhibition in Liverpool from 21-22 November and is a nominee in the Innovation Award at the LEEA Awards 2023.

“The lifting and rigging equipment industry must meet specific safety and quality standards to ensure the protection of workers and also for the public. LEEA plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining these standards. For us, adherence to these standards is crucial to ensure the safety and reliability of our products,” said Stasse.

“It’s not the first time we have sponsored LiftEx. We’re proud to say we have been a full member of LEEA for 12 years and we are always participating in any exhibition or event. For us it's really important to support the association because LEEA has a big influence on any policies and regulations that affect the industry. For example, the great work they did for the replacement of the ‘CE’ marking of products, with ‘UKCA’ marks.

“Having a collective voice in the industry is crucial for addressing concerns and creating a good business environment. Its networking opportunities also allow us to connect with other industry players including our suppliers, customers and competitors. This can lead to innovations, cost savings and mutual beneficial partnerships.”

This year, the company has entered its Green Pin Catch Shackle into the Innovation sector in the LEEA Awards 2023, which prevents accidental dropping of shackle components and where all components can be tethered.

“We are always trying to innovate as a company and to stay ahead of the game. We have participated in the LEEA Awards a few times already, for example with our Green Pin Tycan Chain and Green Pin ROV shackles, designed for use with remote operated vehicles (ROVs) in sub-sea environments. And this year we are participating with our Catch Shackle, which is made for working at height,” said Stasse.

“The Catch Shackle is innovative and game changing for the industry. It’s important for working at height for several reasons; because it enhances safety and minimises the risk of injuries. It is also designed with features that secure all its components, eliminating the risk of falling objects. This is particularly important for industries where tools, equipment or materials are frequently used at elevated positions.

“Preventing falling objects is essential for the safety of workers and visitors onsite, which is critical for preventing injuries in these environments. Our Green Pin Catch Shackle will help maintain the integrity of equipment and loads and unintended disconnections or failures of jackals, which can lead to costly damage, lost time, and potential accidents.

“We want to promote attendees coming to LiftEx because participants get to meet in person companies within the lifting industry and end users get to see the high quality of products we have on the market. It is the perfect opportunity to meet people, end users, competitors and partners.”
