This Diploma qualification is essential for anyone engaged in the testing, inspection, examination and repair/maintenance of lifting accessories.

This course replaces the previous Lifting Equipment General (LEG) Advanced Programme.

Unit 1 (Slinging Accessories)

  1. Working on site
  2. The examiners’ tools and equipment
  3. Types of examination
  4. Textile Slings
  5. Chain and chain slings
  6. Wire rope and wire rope slings
  7. Eyebolts
  8. Hoist rings
  9. Shackles
  10. Rigging Screws and Turnbuckles

Unit 2 (Non-Fixed Load Attachments)

  1. Plate clamps
  2. Beam clamps (including traditional type beam clamps)
  3. Lifting beams
  4. Lifting magnets
  5. Vacuum lifting devices
  6. ‘C’ hooks
  7. Crane Forks
  8. Lifting inserts

Requirements

  • Passed the LEEA Foundation or previous Part 1 Entry (P1E) course
  • You must be over 16 years old
  • You must be employed by a LEEA member or registered with us as an Individual Trainee
