Individual Trainees
LEEA engineer training has previously only been available to staff of LEEA member companies. However following a decision by members at the 2009 AGM, LEEA training courses are now available to suitably qualified individuals.
The e-learning courses align with the syllabus for the LEEA Assessments and have proved to be a very effective way of acquiring the knowledge needed to be successful in the Assessment.
Why has training been made available?
To address a world wide shortage of suitably trained lifting engineers
Why join the scheme?
Who can enrol?
The courses are open to all employees of LEEA members and all Individual Trainees.
What options are there?
There are two options available; they are:
E-learning Courses and Onsite Intensive Learning.
In order to access the LEEA training schemes, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
All application forms will be reviewed by the Training Department and acceptance onto the training schemes is subject to this approval. Trainees may be asked to provide additional information to support their application.
All training materials provided are copyright to the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), are provided for use by the applicant only and must not be duplicated or transmitted in any format.
LEEA reserve the right to exclude any applicant from the courses and to remove any applicant whose actions contravene the terms and conditions of the training or whose actions cause the name of LEEA to be bought into disrepute.
Completion of training courses does not represent a qualification in any way. All candidates must attend and pass the Association's Assessment in order to gain the Foundation Course or Advance Programme certificates.
Individual trainees are not members of the Association and are not entitled to use the name of the Association or the Association logo in any way in support of their business activity.
Individual Trainees wishing to take a LEEA assessment must be registered as a student of the corresponding LEEA training course within a period of two years prior to the assessment date. The training courses can be purchased as e-learning or instructor-led training where applicable
Assessment centres will be set up on a regional basis based upon the level of demand, the Association cannot guarantee immediate access to a local assessment centre on completion of a course although all reasonable efforts will be made to provide assessment centres at accessible locations for all students.
All candidates who pass an examination will be entitled to submit a CV which will be posted in the members area of the LEEA website allowing potential employers to make contact.
To access the LEEA Academy e-learning system the student needs access to the internet, a desktop computer, laptop or tablet with the latest versions of operating system and browser software installed. A printer is optional but will allow the learner to print copies of the course Step Notes and any other supplied learning resources.
Upon enrolment the student will receive an email with their log on details for the LEEA Academy and the first course module will available to start.
On completion of each module the student will then have access to the next module in the series.
