Military Team Card

The Military TEAM Card is designed to support serving members of the military. This is an international Military TEAM Card.

The credit card sized card will provide verifiable evidence of your ID and LEEA qualifications held.

How do I get the leea military team card?

The card may be issued to all serving military personnel on completion of LEEA’s Foundation Certificate and one or more of its Advanced Programmes:

RCS        Runways and Crane Structures
LMP       Lifting Machines Power
OTC        Overhead Travelling Cranes
MCE       Mobile Crane Examination
LEG        Lifting Equipment General
OCE        Offshore Container Examination
LMM     Lifting Machines Manual

Note: The Foundation Certificate is a prerequisite to studying for any of the 7 x Advanced Programmes. There is no order or ‘level’ to the Advanced Programmes.

How much does it cost?

The issue fee for the Military TEAM Card will be £25 + VAT (where applicable)

Do I have to renew the card?

The card is valid for a period of 3 years. In order to revalidate the card, holders will need to enrol and successfully complete a TEAM Card refresher course for each qualification held.

The refresher courses are condensed eLearning courses designed to ensure that qualification holders are kept current with latest legislation, standards, products and developments whilst also testing critical underpinning knowledge.

There is a small charge of £25 + VAT (where applicable) to renew the card, regardless of the number of qualifications held.

What happens if I leave the military?

If you leave military service, your Military TEAM card will remain valid, providing you with a verifiable record of your LEEA qualifications which will help you to seek employment in the lifting equipment industry. Your card will remain valid until its expiry date, upon which it can simply be renewed by enrolling for the relevant refresher courses.

Should you secure employment with a LEEA Member company, we will exchange your Military TEAM card for a membership TEAM card. And don’t worry, if at a later stage you are no longer working for a LEEA Member company, we’ll exchange your membership TEAM Card for your original Military TEAM Card for a small fee of £25 + VAT (where applicable). Your Military TEAM Card would be subject to the 3 yearly renewal cycle.

How do I get started?

To start your journey to the Military TEAM Card, you will need to enrol into the LEEA Academy.

If you DO NOT hold the Foundation Certificate, you will need to enrol onto this eLearning course in the first instance. Once you have completed the course, you will register with either your local LEEA Approved Assessment Centre (currently MOD Lyneham) or LEEA Huntingdon to take your written end-point assessment. Once you have successfully passed the assessment, we will send you your Certificate.

If you hold the LEEA Foundation Certificate, you can enrol for any of the Advanced Programmes. Again, once you finish your eLearning course, and successfully completed your end-point assessment, we will send you your Advanced Programme Certificate and your Military TEAM Card.

If you already hold a LEEA Advanced Programme (or ‘Diploma’) you may simply apply for a Military TEAM Card now by e-mailing us at mail@leeaint.com or contact me directly at andrew.wright@leeaint.com

The application form can be found here: Military eLearning Booking Form

A note regarding competency

The Military TEAM Card is does not provide evidence of competency. The card is a record of your LEEA qualification achievements and CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in proactive pursuit of currency in your field.

Competence can be described as the combination of training, skills, experience and knowledge that a person has and their ability to apply them to perform a task safely. Other factors, such as attitude and physical ability, can also affect someone’s competence.

LEEA’s definition of a Competent Person is a person having such practical and theoretical knowledge and experience of the equipment which is to be thoroughly examined that will enable him/her to detect defects or weaknesses which it is the purpose of the examination to discover and assess their importance to the safety of the equipment. The Competent Person should have the maturity to seek such specialist advice and assistance as may be required to enable him/her to make necessary judgements and be a sound judge of the extent to which he/she can accept the supporting opinions of other specialists. He/she must be able to certify with confidence whether it is free from patent defect and suitable in every way for the duty for which the equipment is required. It is the view of LEEA that competency can be a corporate responsibility
