Voxpop: LIVE at LiftEx 2024 Part I
LEEA took to the show floor to talk to exhibitors at LiftEx 2024 at London Olympia (October 16, 17) to find out what new announcements they had and what products were on display.
Here Jenny Eagle caught up with Carl Stahl Evita, The GGR Group, Modulift, Safety Lifting Gear, Rope and Sling Specialists (RSS) and more.
In breaking news on the first day of the tradeshow, Patrick Doyle, CEO, WH Scott Group announced it had acquired RHC Lifting. Other companies in the group include: Hiltonne Engineering, Metlab, Re-Ropes and Hutcheon Examination Services.
“This partnership represents a powerful synergy between two companies with shared values and a commitment to excellence. The combined strength of WH Scott Group’s extensive resources and experience, along with RHC Lifting’s proven expertise, will allow us to deliver an even higher standard of service while exploring new opportunities for growth and innovation in the industry,” he said.
Phil Goodway, director, RHC Lifting added by joining forces with WH Scott Group, it is confident it can enhance its service offering and expand its capabilities.
Also at the show were Robert (Rory) Rorison, member engagement manager, for Scotland, Northern England & Ireland LEEA, talking about Scottish apprenticeships and Justin Boehm, regional GM, LEEA Australia & New Zealand Regional Council.
Bernard Doughty, MD, Carl Stahl Evita had on display its new Finray Grab ergonomic lifting device, which can adapt to any shape or form to pick up a piece of equipment or load in a safe, useful and efficient manner and Mike Heneghan, EMEA sales director, The GGR Group, showcased products including its 3.0 RT Tracked Carrier, where users can enlist on a LEEA accredited operator training course virtually on their website.
Other items on display were its zero emissions, battery powered Spider Crane, Glazing Robot and Pick & Carry Crane with 800kg capacity for lifting steel beams in a restricted access.
Malcolm Peacock, business development manager, Modulift spreader beams said: “LEEA’s great for us because we’ve got a lot of customers and partners here including Pewag Group. We see a lot of clients and we do a lot of networking. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with everyone at the same time and see how we can help them out.”
It was the first time Kerry Presley key account manager, Safety Lifting Gear (SLG) attended LiftEx. She said the company specialises in high protection material handling and offers testing services. She was at the show to promote its Outrigger Pads, new and improved material lifts, chain hoists and general lifting equipment,
Finally, LEEA sponsors, Paul Glover, national operations director, RSS, said the company was looking to expand its customer base and promote its business to lifting specialists in the area.
“It’s great this year’s event is in London, the capital of the UK because we’re hoping to find a bigger catchment and expand our offering to our new and existing customers,” he said.
