Wan Djawad, Technical Director, has been with Durham Lifting, for three years, and has 15 years’ experience within the lifting industry. His role is to oversee anything technical, from providing advice on the design of lifting equipment, to working alongside a team of design engineers in designing all of the company’s products and off-the-shelf products. As well as developing the brand, expanding its global market reach.
He said Durham Lifting is a full member of LEEA and is always trying to get more involved with the association and is pleased to announce he was recently accepted onto the Technical Committee as a member.
“The Technical Committee is there to provide, check and offer feedback to the industry, in terms of guidance through our technical advisers. So, for example, if there is a new guidance on a particular product or standards and regulations before it gets rolled out to members. The Technical Committee provides input on what's going to be published or produced and picks out on any details that we might want to add to further. Offering added value support on standard practices, that is a lot more relatable and applicable to the industry in general,” said Djawad.
“There is a lot of subject matter LEEA is currently working on, including new products and equipment, offering guidance and regulations surrounding the use of those or to provide clarity on something.”
Djawad said Durham Lifting is currently expanding introducing new members to the team and within LEEA, the association is reviewing a few functions, such as changes in the way the association interacts with its membership, smoothing out any teething issues so that people can get technical advice a lot quicker.
